Depending on the location, you can take the controls in a trial lesson under the guidance of an expert instructor, or you can take a pleasure flight as your pilot puts the plane through its paces.

What happens on the day

When you arrive, you will be issued with any necessary protective clothing (sometimes this is a leather helmet and goggles). You will then be briefed by your instructor before the flight. If you are taking a Trial Lesson you will have the opportunity to take the controls and fly the plane. If you are taking a Pleasure Flight, you will be ‘chauffeured’ as a passenger in the aircraft as the professional pilot puts the plane through its paces.
